Julietta

The memory of a young woman pushes Michel back to a small seaside town after three years.

There he meets a society that has lost his memory, and as time passes he moves deeper and deeper into a surreal world made of his own hazy and unreliable memories. Bohuslav Martinů’s 30’s opera of dreams and ideals is brought to life by Theater Bremen and John Fulljames.

The dream-like state of the town was realised by bleached polaroid images and hazy photographic montages, projection mapped onto the set in MXWendler.

The images were a mix of falsified ‘memories’ of the central characters, shot on location on green screen and placed inside old holiday photos, and computer-generated content, roughened to look like old Polaroids.
