Our work with the National Theatre in London stretches back over 20 years.
Mesmer were hired as consultants to the National Theatre in 1999, as video and projection in theatre started to become commonplace. We worked on every video project there for five years, serving as designers, content creators and technicians for projects like His Dark Materials, The Coast of Utopia, Jerry Springer: The Opera and Complicite’s Measure for Measure.
We left the National Theatre in 2005, advising them on the formation of their first in-house video department. However, we regularly return as video and projection designers for individual shows, such as 2017’s Mosquitoes and 2019’s Peter Gynt.
