Events & Production
The array of technology available for the creation, presentation and control of images and effects expands and develops continually. Mesmer has close supply contacts with developers and suppliers of popular systems and contributes to their ongoing development. We commission and integrate bespoke software and hardware for productions that require more than existing systems can provide.
But most crucially, Mesmer consults independently of rental and manufacturing companies whose subjective advice is often without a design sensibility.
We are happy to advise on the following and much more:
- Media servers and systems including Catalyst, Hippotizer, Mesmerist, Pandora's Box etc .....
- Creative and technical content production with After Effects, FCP, Photoshop, Cinema4D etc ...
- Projection techniques utilising custom screens, mirrors, rigging devices, optical illusions...

Portrait of a Nation
The culmination of Liverpool's City of Culture fesivities in 2008, Portrait of a Nation required the use of both Catalyst and Encore to deliver the variety of pre-recorded and live feeds to the screen. Camera feeds of performers were keyed into their animations and overhead camera shots were projected onto the screen to mirror the stage choreography.
Allianz Business To Arts Awards 2008
Mesmer provided projection design, camera coverage and live video editing for Business to Arts' 2008 Award ceremony at the RDS in Dublin.

Channel 4 Big4
Mark Titchner's re-design of the Channel 4 logo structure included a public video recording booth and playback to LCD screens built into the structure. Mesmer and Digital Antics provided the wherewithal, including custom software for the recording process. This included the ability for members of the public to record, review and submit comments made by themselves to camera.

National Theatre Digital Archive
As well as setting up and developing the first video department at the NT, Mesmer designed and developed the Digital Archive system over all three theatres, archiving an example of each N.T. production on a remote 3 camera recording system.
