The Musichall exhibition at The V&A brings together Walter Sickert’s paintings, sketches and etchings of the Bedford Music Hall in Camden with a film about the characters within the artworks. The paintings are displayed in a purpose built room that has multiple projection areas screening a recreated narrative of the “Three Graces” – a singing trio from the Edwardian era who Walter Sickert painted. We follow their performances and then the contemporary reminiscences of one of the Three Graces in old age.

Finn Ross designed the video installation and the projection system was designed by Dick Straker, John O’Connell and Salvador Avila. Mesmer supplied and installed the whole system which controls the video, lighting and sound playback on an automated daily schedule.
