Tom Vek returned with his first album in five years in 2011. We worked to create a modular, scaleable video system for the resulting tour, and aspects of the stage design were present in live shows andĀ festival appearances throughout 2011 and 2012.
The system played on the album’s red and white colour scheme, generating imagery by overlaying imagery from mutliple tiny cameras hidden around the stage and on various instruemnts. The footage would be overlayed, blended, and then posterised, before being projected onto a varying number of screens from light-up projection housings on-stage.
The cameras blended into each other, and were set to be exactly one beat behind the music, creating a changing abstract backdrop for each show.
