Love’s Sacrifice by John Ford was written in 1633 and strongly influenced by Othello and Romeo and Juliet. It has been powerfully recreated for the first time since its original performance and generates an evocative mix of jealousy, passion, envy and revenge. The strong perspective of the thrust stage design and the exquisite costume designs are extended into a wider projected world of the court and the emotional energy running through it. This is Dick Straker’s second collaboration with the Director and Designer.
